流年 - Floating Year

Chinese have this ancient fortune-telling system. Given your birth date including the hour, some people claim that they could calculate your entire fate, but there is a catch. There is something called Floating Year, which is like a current floating in and out of your fate and temporarily changeing it. It is unpredictable and uncontrollable.

This is my favorite girl singing a song called 流年. I love the music at the beginning. it reminds me of the firework shooting into the dark sky, brilliant, mesmerizing, fleeting and traceless.

Even since Heath Ledger's death I often think of a scene from the movie Brokeback Mountain. It was a beach firework party. Ennis Del Mar was standing on one side and his wife and children on the other, so close and so far away. The beautiful firework was blooming against the night sky. Surrounded by people he looked so lonely. The loneliness was coming from the invisible hole on his chest, the wound from the desperate fight of the losing battle to be someone he was not. Thank God for Brokeback Mountain. Now we have something so wonderful to remember Mr. Ledger of.

有生之年
狭路相逢
终不能幸免
手心忽然长出纠缠的曲线
懂事之前
情动以后
长不过一天
留不住
算不出
流年
...
